Official firmware 5.02 for PSP

Original Version 5.02(download)

An update to the PSP system software was released on November 20, 2008. If you update your PSP system, the system software version will be 5.02 and the following features will be updated.
This minor update is now available on a worldwide basis and as usual, can be obtained from Network Update. As detailed earlier, not a whole lot has changed, with the changelog mentioning that PlayStation Store stability has increased.

*Note: if you update to version 5.02 ofw, maybe you cannot play game from your memstick.
So, think it before.*

Upgrade psp version to 5.00 m33-4

PSP homebrew developer Dark_AleX has released new psp firmware 5.00 m33-4.

what's new:
  1. Speed selected for UMD/ISO was not properly locked in some new games that use scePower_EBD177D6 instead of scePowerSetClockFrequency to change speed.
  2. UMD/ISO speed settings now apply to PSN games too.
  3. Fix libupdown.prx connecting to dark_alex.org instead of sony when npsignin_plugin checks for a new version and m33 update is enable.
  4. ISO file descriptor was not closed in driver deletion.
  5. added a shutdown command to vshmenu.
how to Installing the version 5.00 m33-4:
  • First grab the 5.00 m33-4 files and extract them.
  • Copy the UPDATE folder contained in the archive to X:/PSP/GAME , where X is the letter of your memory stick drive.
  • Navigate to the game menu on the psp and execute the 5.00 m33-4 program, then follow the on-screen instructions to update your firmware.
  • You've successfully installed version 5.00 m33-4.
*Note: you must on version 5.00 m33-3 before install the version 5.00 m33-4.*

Update PSP version with recovery flasher(semi brick)


First you must download the original firmware 5.00 (click here to download) .
after being finished download the firmware,then now you must download the recovery flasher v 1.41 (click here).
After you have finished download all who we need, now i will explain how to install:

1. Decrypt the rflash141.rar, then Copy the RECOVERY folder from the archive to /PSP/GAME/ on your memstick, so that you get a /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/ folder containing the apps EBOOT on your stick.
2. Now copy the original firmware 500.pbp into the memstick root ,or into the RECOVERY folder as well.

Now navigate to the Game menu on PSP and execute the application "recovery flasher".


*note: you must running in version 4.01 m33-2 before install the 5.00 m33-3, to reduce percentage you brick your psp.

Update PSP version without pandora battery (part 4)

Version 4.01 m33

Here is a detailed step by step guide for installing the newly released 4.01 M33. Please note that you must be running 3.52 M33-3, or higher to begin this installation. Do note that if you're already running 3.80 M33 and have a WiFi connection, you can simply update to 3.90 M33 by selecting Network Update from the PSP XMB.

Installing 4.01 M33

First grab the 4.01 M33(click here) files and extract them.

1. Copy the UPDATE folder contained in the archive to X:/PSP/GAME

2. Download the 4.01 EBOOT, and then place it in X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

3. Navigate to the Game menu on the PSP and execute the program, it will not run unless there is 78 percent battery free.

4. Press X and the update process will start. Yes it may look similar to a regular Sony update but don't worry!

5. Once finished, the updater will ask you to press X or O to reboot. You MUST do this, otherwise you'll end up with a brick.

6. You've successfully installed 4.01 M33!

Upgrading to 4.01 M33-2

After installing 4.01 M33, it is recommended to apply the latest update for additional bug fixes and related firmware improvements. Below is a quick three step walkthrough on how to manually update the firmware. Please note that you must have already installed 4.01 M33, as detailed above, in order to begin this process.

1. Download the 4.01 M33-2(click here) update files and extract the archive.

2. Copy the UPDATE folder contained in the archive to X:/PSP/GAME, where X is the letter of your memory stick drive. If asked to overwrite any files, do so.

3. Navigate to the Game menu on the PSP and execute the 4.01 M33-2 update program. Then follow the on-screen instructions to update your firmware.

4. You've successfully installed 4.01 M33-2!

Version 3.90 m33

3.90 M33 Install Guide
Here is a step by step guide for installing the newly released 3.90 M33. Please note that you must be running 3.52 M33-3, or higher to begin this installation. 2. Download the 3.80 EBOOT, and then place it in X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

version 3.71 m33

Here is a step by step guide for installing 3.71 M33. Please note that you must be running 3.52 M33-3, 3.52 M33-4 or 3.60 M33 to begin this installation.

Note: Before installing 3.71 M33, be warned that it currently is lacking the 1.50 kernel, even on regular (Phat) PSPs. Dark_AleX does plan to release a 1.50 kernel patch within the next few days, but for now you can use the eLoader to run 1.50 kernel homebrew on 3.71 M33.

Installation Guide

1. Download the 3.71 EBOOT, and then place it in you memstick (example X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE).

2. After that download the 3.71 m33 files and extract them.

3. Copy the UPDATE folder contained in the archive to X:/PSP/GAME

4. Navigate to the Game menu on the PSP and execute the program, it will not run unless there is 78 percent battery free.
